Introduction

Base Template is a Squarespace starter template with very minimal markup and styles, intended to be used as a starting point for your next project. It's also the default template for every Developer Site when a consumer template is not used as the starting point.

As our platform evolves, so will this template. It will be kept up to date with system changes, new features as well as best practices. 

By default, all Squarespace sites include the following 3rd party libraries:

• html5shiv.js – the defacto way to enable use of HTML5 sectioning elements in legacy Internet Explorer

• modernizr.js – feature detect HTML5 and CSS3 features

normalize.css (v2.0.1) is also included in this template as /styles/reset.css.

What's Included

This template includes on Blog, which is considered a chronological collection. Content, structure and social blocks are the building blocks of a page and are available to all sites regardless of markup and style.

Folders are also supported in this template and used for navigation purposes.
